Every single quarter inside the Elena S. Blair Education Facebook group, I look forward to one thing more than anything else: our community cover photo contest.
It is my favorite tradition because it isn’t about stiff competition or strict technical judging, itโs about celebrating you, your growth as artists, and the incredible, connection-driven imagery being created right here in our community.
This quarter, our theme was TOGETHER, a celebration of the beautiful, fleeting ways families grow, change, and stay connected as seasons shift.
What “TOGETHER” Means in Family Photography
When we photograph families, we aren’t just taking pictures for today. We are creating heirlooms for 20, 30, and 50 years from now.
The theme TOGETHER challenged our community to look beyond rigid posing and capture the authentic heartbeat of family life:
- A brand-new baby wrapped tightly in a motherโs arms.
- Siblings laughing hysterically or whispering secrets side by side.
- A quiet, tender moment between a parent and child.
- Families stepping into a brand-new, transformative season of life.
Seeing how each photographer interpreted this theme was nothing short of inspiring.
The Community Voted – Here Are Your Top 10 Artists!
Our quarterly Facebook cover contest relies entirely on community voting. Our group members vote by liking the images that move them, encourage one another in the comments, and lift each other up.
It is a true celebration of artist-supporting-artist culture, and I am so proud of every single person who put their work out there!
