Hey there photographers!! Today I want to share my tried-and-true strategy for consistently making $10,000 a month as a family photographer. The year is almost over and this is exactly what I would do if I wanted to make sure that I made 10K a month for the rest of the year with my family photography. My newborn photoshoots already on the calendar would be icing on the profit cake.

1. Crunch the Numbers

The first step on this journey is to crunch the numbers. Determine how many sessions you need on your calendar to reach your $10K monthly goal. It might sound simple, but many photographers overlook this crucial step. If you find that you need an excessive number of sessions, it might be time to consider a price increase. However, don’t rush into that decision if your calendar isn’t fully booked for the year yet. I have a super simple price increase plan but that is for another blog post.

2. Streamline Your Booking Process

Next up, make it easy for clients to book sessions with you. I personally use Honeybook to create a fast and efficient booking calendar system. Clients appreciate a hassle-free booking experience, and it increases your chances of getting those sessions filled. You have to make it easy for them! That is essential!

3. Reconnect with Past Clients

Don’t forget about your past clients! We spend so much time trying to find new clients that we forget about the value of staying in touch with past clients. Send out an email letting them know that you have limited sessions left for the year, especially with the holidays approaching. Include a booking link in your email. You’ll be surprised at how many clients this simple email can bring back into the fold.

4. Ramp Up Your Social Media Leverage social media to your advantage.

Post updates letting your audience know that the year is winding down and it’s time to book their family sessions. Don’t forget to include a booking link in your bio to make it super easy for potential clients to reach you.

5. Plan Profitable Mini Sessions

Consider hosting one or two highly profitable mini session weekends right before Thanksgiving. These can be a great way to attract last-minute clients who missed out on your full session slots. My mini session weekends bring in around $6,000. If you need an income boost, this is a fantastic strategy to implement.

Take Swift and Consistent Action

One of the most critical takeaways here is to take swift and consistent action. The year is winding down, and you need to hustle to meet your financial goals. Being a talented photographer is just one piece of the puzzle. You must actively market yourself and make things happen. Set clear goals and create a plan to achieve them. Don’t wait around hoping that clients will magically come to you through word of mouth or the occasional pretty photo post. It’s time to roll up your sleeves and take action! ✨

So, there you have it – my simple approach to making $10,000 a month as a family photographer. It’s all about setting goals, creating a plan, and taking action. If you’re ready to level up your photography business, start implementing these strategies today. Your future self will thank you for it!

Now, go out there and make it happen, friend!
