I interviewed New York photographer Katie Cassara earlier this month about her success since taking my online course Schooled. Schooled: The Complete Guide to Fine Art School Photography teaches photographers around the world the ins and outs of fine art school photography and how to add school portraits to your business offerings.
I wasn’t too surprised to hear that only one year after taking Schooled and with a relatively new Lifestyle Photography business, Katie was able to book a preschool with 75 kids and make a profit of $3,500. It’s actually pretty normal to make between $2,000 and $4,000 per school shoot!
The part of Katie’s story that was incredible to hear was that she has booked over 20 family sessions directly from taking fine art school portraits at that ONE preschool.
This means almost a THIRD of families whose kids got their portrait taken by Katie then signed up for a full family session with her!
Katie says “I’ve completed or booked family and extended family sessions, maternity, newborn, professional headshots, and senior photos all thanks to this one school.”
