Transforming School Photography: My Podcast Chat with Scott Wyden Kivowitz

Photography is more than just capturing moments; it’s about creating a seamless process that allows you to focus on your art while building a thriving business. In a recent episode of Workflows, I had the pleasure of speaking with Scott Wyden Kivowitz about how I’ve transformed the school photography industry with an authentic and efficient approach.

A modern take on a classic genre, school photography.

During our conversation, I shared the strategies that have helped me streamline my year-round school photography services. From mastering in-camera techniques to reduce post-processing time to leveraging gallery solutions for better organization, I’ve learned that simplicity and efficiency are key. We also discussed the careful integration of AI tools into my workflow. While I approach AI cautiously, I’ve found ways to use it that enhance productivity without compromising the artistry of my work.

One of my core beliefs is that you don’t need to start with every tool or software available. As I shared on the podcast, “I believe in starting with minimal resources and only investing in additional software when it’s profitable.” This mindset has not only saved me time and money but also allowed me to focus on creating meaningful art.

Scott and I also talked about my coaching program, The Elena S Blair Mastermind, where I guide photographers worldwide to streamline their businesses and make their creative passions profitable.

If you’re looking for actionable tips on creating a workflow that works for you, this episode is packed with insights you can use right away.
